Pakefield Pet Hotel in Lowestoft

Pet hotel pakefield ruined our after holiday experiance A score of 1 is too high. A score for our Experience with Pets Hotel Pakefield London rd, Lowestoft Suffolk is un rateable for how my puppy bulldog suffered with contracting kennel cough due to their negligence of not doing what their website states in black and white.... They booked our 11 month old bulldog in for 2nites when we arrived at reception on drop off date 18-7-15 went in reception 8:30 am to be greeted by a strong pet /and urine /ammonia smell...looked behind the reception before leaving her with them......under the seating area was filthy of fur/hair dust fluff ect ect.... When we collect our girl 10am 20-7-15 she stunk and her freshly laundered bedding we left with her also was so strong smelling of urine we had to stop and buy some binbags to seal her bedding in.....days later our baby got sick, she couldn't eat or drink and was making strange voice noises, when I gave her water as to keep her hydrated it sounded like it went to her lungs......we didn't know what to do so we watched her another 24/48 hours constantly hoping it was just from the sadness she experienced at the kennels..... After visiting OUR vets as she started bring up white thick sticky mucus and coughing real bad we told him about her recent stay at the Pakefield kennels and that they gave her the vaccine for kennel cough on the day our puppy was dropped off as they recommended plus if a dogs booked in for a stay over the kennel cough vaccine is cheaper she had a vaccination with them at their vets on site.....I got OUR vets bill today and I phones Marion at the pets hotel, she passed me over to a very abrupt man who told me my dog didn't contract kennel cough from them and how can I prove it, did my vets do swabs ect ect ect. He said that I have neglected my dog by not having her upto date with the vaccine, I told hm we have never left her we have had her from 8 weeks and she has always been with us, never in a kennel, he said I was a irrisponsible owner!!! I told him that on his web page it states that all animals must be upto date with the kennel cough vaccine before staying at their kennels...and that it must be ADMINISTER a minimum of 7days before the animals stay in kennels........but that was never mentioned to us Marion just said bring her along we will vaccinate on arrival ( so we did........ ( he said they took her in as they didn't want to turn us away!! I would of rather been turned away then to put me my hubby and 2 teenage sons through worrying and cleaning Up behind our beloved very sick. pet...... I can't imagine how our puppy felt having to go through her 2nite stay in a smelly place along with the sickness she contracted from there and to have to be pulled about from our vets to help make her better!,...... She's 11 months old and I'm hoping she will learn to forget the last month because of that stay at The Pets hotel Pakefield lowestopft Suffolk...................the man had no remorse and said not to contact them again,..................we said see you in a court( ( HIS reply was that :"""his insurance company has VERY deep pockets.".......and he called me an irresponsible owner WTF............ Nasty nasty heartless man........You have been reported to all the right people including the RSPCA. Please take note of this that has happened to us, a 2 nite sleep over ended in our puppy being distressed dehydrated smell worse then I have ever smelt an animal and went through an appalling trauma, just because we put her in pets hotel Pakefield next to Pontins.......if I could rewind the clock I would, but I sure thing that's come out of this is that she will only be coming away with us if we go anywhere again.....we'd NEVER put her in harm ever again............Karen Alan norfolk A genuine EX customer of Pets Hotel Pakefield.......... ...... I hope all your friends will be so kind as to keep this being shared as the more who know the less chance of this happening again.......................kaz..................,.,.,.,.,.,,.,.,.,,.,',,.,,.,.xx.......,.,.........,..................................................................................Karen Alan would like to say Thanks for sharing guys x " she's doing fine luckily for them. I was up all last night until late going over and over what the man from the Pet hotel Pakefield said to me on the phone yesterday afternoon Not many people make me cry but that was me yesterday "crying with anger! how dare he call me an irresponsible pet owner and twist around the fact that I hadn't had our puppy's vaccination for kennel cough upto date! She's now 12 months old they were the ones who said bring her down we will vaccinate her on arrival, we done what they asked "arrive between 8:30am & 10:30 am with Annie we left her at their reception as their webpage states on my wall cover and they billed us for the 2nites stay plus the kennel cough vaccine charge by the vets on site..... They knew what they were doing was not normal practice as it states on their webpage (Vaccine must be done a MINIMUM of 7days prior to pets staying in kennels so they have breached their rules........ It's just a shame that we didn't see their website page prior to Anines stay' as I would of questioned it....'And made sure she had the required gap (minimum 7days before letting her sleep over" it wasn't like we landed on their doorstep on that day ANnie was booked in weeks before 18th July they obviously don't practice what they preach and take in any dog with or without vaccines....... "ask any parent or pet owner would you allow your child or dog sleep over at a place that was unhygienic, full of potential viruses that are highly contagious that CAN be life threatening!!.,., """""""NO is the answer! but we allowed this to happen because we took the word and advice of the owner Marion gave us when she booked our girl Annie in on the phone just a few weeks before........RSPCA have been contacted and I will make sure I contact all the people I can to help get the word out to help preventi what they put us through happening to others...."our cheap weekend away turned into one of the most expensive weekends we've ever had ..... That lovely weekend break me and my hubby had away has now turned into a nightmare month!! thanks to them theyve ruined not just our first kennel experiance but they tainted / tarnished any chance of us using kennels again "we are now left with the feelings of remorse/ (for where we trusted to leave our precious puppy Anine !!!!.........feeling guilty because me and my hubby had such a nice 2days away alone!!!!..................feel cheated and robbed as they KNOW they are in the wrong but refuse to admitt it or to take the blame/responsibility appoligues and pay the £478 vets bill we recieved.........and most of all they brought suffering and pain to ALL our family because of this ""as we didn't know if our baby girl would live or die because of their negligence.........And NO-ONE gets away with that.........please share friends if friends thus MUST not happen again..
